What should Moyes do with Rodwell & Barkley?

I can see him eventually moving your name sake to the Cahill role mate. As Toxteth and yourself both said we would benefit from someone with good craft in the middle. Pienaar could do that job but we can't afford to buy decent wide players so he'll stay out left probably. Shame as we've got the makings of a very good side indeed.

Yeah I can see that as well. I know what you mean for once there seems like theres good competition for places all over the pitch (except upfront, thats on Jelavic) but the likes of Osman Pienaar Naismith Barkley can all play in more than one position which is good cos we can change it a little bit so they have more freedom. Can't see Moyes not having Gibson and Rodwell in the centre though, Gibsons been class and Moyes loves Rodwell. So for now I think we'll have to have the players who play in 'the hole' playing on the wings. Hopefully it works just as good

Barkley could be our lottery ticket there like. Sincerely hopes he steps it up this year. If he does then we've got a boss midfield.

He's just Gerrard but not a tit and is more technically different. Hope he gets some game time next year which I expect him to do and starts making a name for him self, not hard like we all love him already

I'd make them strip, oil up and wrestle with the winner getting a first XI slot.

Motivate and inspire them so they play like rampaging pirates heroically paving the way for a flurry of other youngsters creating a dynasty in the style of Giggs, Beckham, Nevilles etc.

Not much to ask for really.

I wouldn't be surprised if we started the season with Rodwell next to Gibson with Fellaini behind the striker.

I expect Barkley to play about 15-20 games in the league & cups over the season, save any injuries

With all the guys mentioned in the thread so far, Pienaar aside that's our midfield possibly set for the next 5/6 years. The best way to get the best out of them is to let them play and learn together from their experiences. If Naismith can be half as successful as Jelavic has so far then him and Pienaar can supply most of the flair. Barkley can provide some extra in the middle, and I reckon Felli has a bit of that in him aswell (see: Pienaar's goal v. Man U). So then we just need to blood someone in to take over from Pienaar in a couple years and we're set for midfield, and can concentrate on other areas.

Moyes should:

a ) Build a time machine and sell Rodwell for £20m to Chelsea/Man Utd in 2011, and
b ) Build a time machine and stop that RS c**t breaking Barkley's leg in 2010.

He should stop using Jack as a holding midfielder he's going to turn out like Michael Carrick at this rate, we don't need him to do that! Let him off the leash and let him play further up the field.

As for Barkley the world is his oyster, I can't wait to see him get some games under his belts. But I imagine Moyes will gently push him into the team on the wing.

I expect to start the season with...

............Rodwell..Gibson...............
..Osman........Fellaini......Pienaar...

With the likes of Naismith Barkley and Donovan a few months later mixing it up dependent on form/injurys ect. Also expect junior to be there abouts next season too!
