Branthwaite's injury effectively cost Europe. The headers by Dyke and Soucek don't happen with the 6 ft 5 inches centre back plus imo the 2nd goal City scored doesn't happen in place of Keane - Branthwaite easily mops up and the state of both goals conceded today - Branthwaite in place of Keane = 3 points. It's as simple as that. People can blame Moyes, subs etc but with Branthwaite the defence is infinitely better and conceding 8 goals in 3 and a bit games since his injury has been a backbreaker.
