I guess the middle ground might be more policing as well as more services, concealing, education, and more community integration. That would go for asylum seekers and locals.
All that costs money and there'll always be people who object to money being spent on 'outsiders'.
I think it's reasonable to be concerned about a sudden large influx of people from a different culture.
The problem occurs when these people are somehow seen as lesser, or less deserving.
I wonder how many of those protesting have an Irish uncle or grandfather who left a failing economy dogged by civil unrest.
Absolutely, everything you say there is correct. I don’t think any of it will be forthcoming though with this government, even more so when the area in question is the safest labour seat in the country. And I agree, I only live a five minute drive from the hotel in question, if I was in the immediate vicinity of it I wouldn’t have been happy either. Does that make me a racist or anti immigration, I don’t believe it does, it just makes me question how it’s even got to this point in the first place and people have a right to know who’s going to be housed there. I’m sure the people housed in the hotels will understand the upset as well, to a point, and I’m sure they’d all much rather have not had to leave their homelands to come here. I have no idea how true the claims are that there has been multiple occasions of people trying to solicit young girls, but it’s just an easy target for people wanting to make trouble isn’t it, especially when you know the hotel is housed with the people you are unhappy with anyway.

It’s perfectly reasonable to understand that different cultures have views that clash with what we consider to be ‘western values’ However, for the most part, we’re also not as enlightened as we like to think we are.
Incidents like this, are by and large driven by racism, and not concern for the welfare of others.

no dog???
you just proposed banning all single men living in certain countries from the UK

As mentioned in an earlier post - "in the current climate".

This countries currently a melting pot and it'll only take a spark to light the fuse.

Let me give you an example - if 10,000 scousers move to Tokyo and just say a small pocket of around 20-30 of them are involved in high profile crimes in the media such as murder/rape/paedophilia with the victims being natives - a lot of Japanese residents will start getting agitated over scousers moving there based on the actions of a minority (look at the reputation of travellers in the UK).

That doesnt make Japanese people racist gammonheeds as the left love to label people - its a simple tribal/cultural reaction thats steeped in our evolutionary makeup.

Unfortunately our policy makers have no understanding of basic human nature instead they're driven by left/right think tanks - so during a period of heightened tensions such as these I think it would be rather sensible to not permit hordes of lone men from high risk countries into deprived areas unless you want civil unrest...

I don't know if you have ever cooked before but pots in which things are melting rarely if ever come with fuses.

Also lets not pretend that people haven't spent years spamming the media, the internet, social media and random people in the pub with tales of rivers of blood and other horrors that are just looming out of reach so why we don't all sign up to some form of common sense racism that financially benefits the people who are calling for just simple common sense.

Harry Enfield very obviously based Frank Doberman on you.

You couldn’t be more of a parody if you tried.

I actually think you’re on to something here.

Bold 1: but what if most Japanese people realise that the crimes are committed by a minority of scousers, and dont fall into the tribal reaction? But a tiny number of Japanese get triggered into a tribal reaction and get aggravated and take matters into their own hands?

Bold 2: What if those policy makers are driven by people who believe your point at bold 1 - that these reactions are just natural and stepped in evolution? Then those policy makers make more and more draconian legislation. Sound familiar?
