They improved because they went against Brent's 'principles' of possession based footy from season one in charge to using Gerrard to knock it long to two forwards who have accounted for the bulk of their 80 odd goals. The defence is a car crash. The same man who brought in Mignolet also brought in Kolo Toure and wasted tens of millions on a clutch of Italian failures.

I'd really be interested to know where this coaching has come in by the way. Suarez needed some tit from Northern Ireland who never played a high level game in his life to become a better player? I'm looking forward to that answer.

If you say 'he's done a great job' loads of times it doesn't make it true.

He's got two top goalscorers and a player like gerrard who can consistently find them. That's it.

Seeing how Gerrard is not participating at the moment - to avoid that yellow card he's more or less taking a back seat - the opposition should exploit that and put much more pressure on him to get involved and therefore gain some advantage as he clearly would pull out of a few tackles.

Rodgers has brought on the likes of Henderson, Flannagan, Sturridge, Sterling etc.

He has taken the same team from 7th to 1st. He has created a team/style/system which makes that group a devastatingly effective side. One in which Suarez thrives.

Look at what Moyes has done at United for the complete opposite. A limited manager stifles and destroys a winning mentality which has been created/lasted two decades. Look at Mata, RVP ffs.

If he's taking a back seat and not participating as you say, what difference does it make if he does get booked and misses 2 games.

The ONLY option would be for him to get booked in the city game, which would see him miss the chelsea match. Going into that game without the club captain would be interesting to see. But then lets face it, sir ego and his crew of title shithouses would stil roll out the red carpet and present the game on a newly polished silver platter, even without stevie me.
