What if Liverpool won the title?

Not bothered City beat Arseanl and its game over, they may chase one down but not both chelsea and arsenal, once city go above them (should they beat arsenal) then they can forget it and I was worried really worried and still will be if they lose sat but should they win game over

The point I was trying to make in the 'Credit Rodgers?' thread is that even if they do win it this season I don't think that they'll go on to dominate and create a dynasty. I know that Suarez and Sturridge have taken all the plaudits but Gerrard has as many league goals as Lukaku and he's third in the assists table. He's had his injury problems though and he surely can't have much more than another couple of years left in him. He'll be 34 in May and he has an awful lot of work to get through in their current system, single-handedly protecting the back four and setting up attacks. His performance levels will inevitably dip in the not-too-distant future and they will be huge boots to fill.

It would surprise me if Suarez committed his prime years to the cause too. If he wins Player of the Year and the Golden Boot surely the super-rich clubs will come knocking. Liverpool were able to resist £40m but would they stand firm at £80m? And we know that it's all well and good having the money in the bank (see Spurs) but spending it wisely is another matter.

I don't see their 'Moneyball' approach paying off either. I know it's early days but the only player they've speculated on who looks like he might be special is Coutinho.

They're having a phenomenal season but I think that most of the clubs around them, ourselves included, have a stronger foundation for continued success. I can imagine that once the bubble bursts Rodgers' tinkering and 'Brentisms' will start to look a bit sad.

One deaw coupled with a city win and its probably over for them. That could easily happen this weekend.

Theyve done very well and similar to what we did in 04/05 have shocked teams with a new tactic. You cant replicate this season on season though. Theyll never get a transition season like this again for all the other top clubs. Chelsea barely have a striker. Theyll never have another injury free season like they have this year. Theyll probably never get so many pens or set piece goals again. If they dont win it this year i struggle to see them doing it again. Mourinho will monopolise it after the next transfer window.

If it meant us getting fourth I'd hand Gerrard the trophy myself.
Everton first.

The moment we would rather fail than see them succeed is the moment that the bitter tag becomes true.

I want Everton to be successful, and ideally, them to be liquidated, but if it requires them being successful for Everton to win, then I will begrudgingly not root against them. Luckily, it does not this year. I want them to thrash Spurs (just as backup) and them get smashed by City and Chelsea.

A week ago I would have scoffed at this notion.

But now it is on again......I am coming round to that way of thinking :)

Does this mean I have to hope they beat Spurs on Sunday....

I wish I shared your view, but I´m more in the ´cut of your nose to spite your face´ camp!

I´ve become so bitter towards them since moving from Liverpool.

Everton 4th and Liverpool to win the title? No thanks.

They still go on about winning the CL 9 years ago. Imagine what it would be like.
They won't win it, 100% guarenteed.

Pretty much in agreement, although I'd be happy if they drew vs Spurs.

We're obviously gonna win the league and champions league next year so i'm not @rsed.

Agree, as for those saying they wont Liverpool to beat Spurs have a word with yourselves, if we cant stay above Spurs on our own we dont deserve to be anywhere near a European spot. I hope Spurs do them 5 0
