What football law change would you propose ?

Whilst I think the situation with the crowding of the ref has become better over the last couple of seasons, I think that this needs to be toughened up, especially if the ref will have to take time out for VAR.

Only people directly involved with a decision and the captains of either team to be close to the ref, otherwise card time - enforce this rule (I think they should be under law 5?). Anyone who encroaches on the refereeing team during a VAR decision should be similarly penalised.

Arguing or not falling back when defending a free kick, should lead to the attacking team being able to relocate the ball anywhere within 10 yards of the original foul if they wish - and if that ends up in the penalty area, it's a penalty.

Essentially I want better behaved players.

That you reacting again there spud?

Don’t get a wet on, the draft idea isn’t yours.

It’s an awful idea for football. I believe we’ve discussed it before.
No it’s clearly you reacting to me again as per

It’s not an awful idea

The way this league is run is an elitism concept with the top 6 sides getting all the best players simply because they can afford to buy them given their commercial success over all the other clubs

At least a draft system of some sort would make the league fairer and a wage cap would allow teams to compete more evenly

Now this is a good idea.

I guess there’s the fear that it could somehow interrupt the game.
They do it in rugby. Players go down and pretend to be injured and take the sting out of the game and slow it down, I was coached that 40 odd years ago. You see it today, players pretend to be hurt after a tackle, but when their side are attacking they are soon up.

Clean up deadball situations where shenanigans are regularly going on in the box. Shirt grab or using hands to engage/hold a player up, penalty. Attacking player climbs upon defender's back to attempt a header is penalized for a foul should any hand go on the player

Never going to happen but something I'd like to see change, tiresome atm - nearly every deadball situation has something you could conceivably whistle for a foul making it absolute guesswork

I’m reacting to the idea in the post not you.

It’s a bad idea. That’s why they don’t do it.

It works in things like NFL because it’s been done for years and years. Such a big change simply couldn’t and won’t ever happen in football.

Yeah, was about to say trainers come on while play is on going in Rugby/NRL,i always expect one of the trainers or players on the ground to be wacked, by players not realising someone is been treated

Scrap league cup altogether and have one cup competition.
No two legged ties for quarter finals and semi finals. Play them at Wembley.
In the interest of fairness, a two week winter break and simultaneous winter transfer window at exactly after 18 games.

And some belters in here. Agree with every single one of them.
Get rid of the away goal rule.
Referees to explain their decisions post-match.
Referees not to be introduced/ shown on telly therefore making them anonymous.

No it’s a really bad idea that doesn’t take in to account the cultural differences between the two countries or the youth development systems in place.

If we had a great 16 year old prospect would we be happy for him to be transferred to Macclesfield because they had the first draft pick?

It’s actual nonsense.

Extend the 18-yard line across the width of the pitch. Only have offside within the final 18 yards. It would make for more open play, and remove the ridiculous situation where you have offside freekicks a yard inside the defending side's half. It would also provide for less break-up of play.
