I don't follow the practice....just reporting what research says. It came to mind as there was recently more interest in the subject related to public WCs and that a person with COVID does shed virus in feces.

We actually do follow such a practice at our house. We keep the seat and the lid down. Years ago I read the article below about how fecal particles can attach to toothbrushes, the thought of having any fecal fragments as toothpaste was enough to persuaded me to enforce such practice at home.

Although given all the droplet spray when flushing, the best position is with the lid down as well.

1) This Proves we've all been good boys and obeyed your every wish (however pointless it might seem to us)...Not that we are all lazy.
But; rather its about being able to Prove a Negative

2) If the seat is down, How do you know - short of the whole Luminol and UV light thing - that we actually did lift it up ???


Then we move on to...
Toilet Paper sheets next to the wall OR away from the wall - away obvs.
though, tbh, I suspect this maybe a trans gender thing - and not just Women...(probably needs a whole new thread and poll.)
