Win the Europa. End of. No country wants a nearly 4th team. They want a winning team. Now get over it, close this thread down, I solved the issue.

Overall, I think we are not doing too badly in the marketing dept especially in engaging with the local community. The charity work we do, school, cheap tickets for kids, visits by players/Roberto to local fans, funny Ad campaigns, Everton One etc all seem to work pretty well. We are getting good crowds (obviously also affected by our style and success) and our finances are in good shape (well last year's were!).
As an overseas fan, I think the biggest area we could improve is our engagement with our global fan base. I have written to the club a few times with ideas to try to harness that support but to no avail. Very briefly, here are a few ideas that I had :-
1. Have a World Everton fan day (7th Aug, 7/8 from 1878) where fans all over the world collectively or individually celebrate being a Toffee.
2. Have an official Everton global ambassador (when I wrote Tim Cahill was my choice) as a focal point for global fan base.
3. Offer an annual competition specifically for Global fans with prize of 2 return tickets/hotel from anywhere in the world (get sponsors involved etc)

His Fatness the clueless Keith Wyness should have tackled the China market when Kejian were our sponsors. We should have had a go at them esoecially with a population of two billion and with a middle class now numbering about five hundred million.
Also give elstone his p45.

The company I work for held a meeting in Madrid and used the Real conferencing facilities. They also organised an 11 aside game on Real's training ground and paid for two ex players to coach each team, photos etc....

Great day out loads of merchandise bought etc

We need Ten Assistants, Nine Hummers, Eight Dwarves Dressed like Oompa Loompas, Seven Creative Directors, Six Bikini Models, Five Bottles of Vodka, Four Different Kinds of Cheese Platters, Three Penthouse Suites, Two A4 Pieces of Paper Ruled and Margined and One Kilo of Premium Beak.

This is how things work in Advertising.

On the Ground tour I went to on my Birthday about five years ago - sadly missed the Cannonball Kid Mr D Hickson, as he was very ill - I went with a wallet full of money expecting to buy books food etc - I could not even buy a cup of tea - In fact I came away with a load of freebies programmes charts etc a fantastic tour -, but I came away concerned as a local non league club by me would have seized the opportunity to provide catering open the merchandise shop etc - BK should appoint Sir Terry Leahy in some sort of capacity to replace the deadwood who imo made are club too charitable on that day - A fantastic day for me and my son - financially a missed opportunity for our club!
If its happening at a simple level of income like this what's happening on the big deals of sponsorship etc????
After a fantastic morning I came away totally bemused with a full wallet and not even being able to purchase a cup of tea!
I'm glad you had a great day on the tour joey. I suppose another way of looking at it is the majority of people on the tour were Evertonians so it's good the club are giving them a great experience and not trying to fleece them.

Get a new Chief Executive who spends more time getting to understand how comparitive clubs like Villa, Spurs etc can far outperfrom us - and spends less time on a sun bed.
