What are you currently listening to?

Finally got round to listening to this, I completely forgot about it

Was actually a bit disappointed with it, mate. Although I think it was a case of Everton, I had expected ALOT more. Seems like 3 or 4 good songs accompanied by fillers.

Another band that had a cracking album in 2012. This song has festival written all over it.

I know what you mean mate. I'm not a huge fan of theirs anyway, I'm just happy to listen to something new sometimes!

I like Cloud Nothings too mate! And that's one of my favourites! Have you listened to all 3 of his albums?

Know what you mean, went on a surge for new music today to little avail!

I never heard the debut, but i've heard the other ones. Was very impressed with the change of sound from #2 to #3. Better again, they said they will release a new album again this summer!

I love a good music hunt. I've managed to find some really good stuff so far this year. Mainly electronic, though.

Good stuff, I'll look forward to that.

His 3rd album is by far his most polished, it's just a little short! The 1st is quite raw by comparison but it's still good.

I'm the same mate, 2013 is probing to be quite a synthy year thus far. Although a few crackin' albums to come out in the next few days (Peace - In Love, Wavves - Afraid of Heights)!

Must get a listen to the debut, heard it's a lot more 'poppy' but that doesn't bother me too much.

What kind of stuff is that mate? I've not heard of those. Not that I'm John Peel or anything.

I tend to like slower stuff these days, (at the grand old age of 25 FFS!) with Bonobo's next release on April 1st being my most eagerly anticipated!

I don't think it's a whole lot different from his 2nd album tbh. It's rough though and it almost sounds like a demo.

I'm surprised you've never heard of Wavves to be honest! Like Cloud Nothings, the new album has a change of sound. Their past records have been real lo-fi surfer punk music. New one is gritty rock though and im loving it. Peace are a decent enough Brith indie band. Know how to write a damn catchy song.

Haha, I know what you mean but, my mood in music changes all too often. I've seen you post that Bonobo a few times, must check them out at some stage.

Kodaline EP by Irish band Kodaline. One of their other songs All I Want was on Grey's Anatomy. Their new song High Hopes is getting a lot of airplay on MTV of all places (yes, they still play music occasionally)

The things I've seen you take in that gym mate! Ket is like paracetamol to you!

Give this a spin perhaps laaa, I'm really liking it.

I'll give yer mar a spin if this lip continues lad ffs.

Anyway, never heard of this. Quite nice though, I must say. I'm so slow at getting onto new music. I'm still bumping Rounds and Black Sands etc constantly. Unspoken is a gem.

I don't listen to an awful lot of bands these days really. I listen to electronic music much more now, but I'll check them out!

Yeah I bang on about Bonobo a fair bit! Haha.

Been spinnin' yer mar all night lad.

Have you ever listened to any of the Synkro stuff I've posted? Well Synkro and the guy in the song above have a side project called Kiyoko, which is also really good. I'll post some stuff when I'm at a computer. It's very mellow music.

It is indeed. It sounds incredible on full blast through headphones! I'm the same, I've just been playing Bonobo stuff constantly for ages.

Pretty sure this band are going to take off soon. Synkro did an incredible cover of their song 'Love' a while back. Elena Tonra's voice is just gorgeous, and a bit different to what's out there at the moment. This mashup of Bon Iver's 'Perth' and Hot Chip's 'Ready For The Floor' is brilliant.

Sounds like Florence and the Machine to me.

Prefer Little Boots' bedroom version showing off her tenorion skills to be honest.

Hot Chips version is of course the best.

On my phone so I can't listen to that.

Yeah she does have a similar sound to Florence actually, but I think her voice is softer, more sincere. Their songs are generally a lot less upbeat than Florences.
