Can't say I've heard of either of them, but it was pleasant listening. Who are they ?

Both played a lot in our house at the moment - big favourites of Mrs Mick! Tamar we knew from her work in an ensemble but only discovered her solo work during our holiday a couple of months ago.

Mehdi is a Moroccan musician who specialises in the guembri - the 3-stringed instrument he plays in the video. Most of his music is traditional Moroccan but he's played with various artists from other backgrounds, including the likes of Herbie Hancock.
Tamar is a Mizrahi Jew from Israel whose music celebrates her Jewish-Moroccan heritage, often singing in the Haqetia language, a mixture of Hebrew, Arabic and Spanish. She's performed in both Israel and Morocco as well as in Europe - lala means matriarch or powerful woman.
