Flicking between some of Mount Kimbies new stuff.
Kodak to Graph (who you should get on BLF).
Madvillain. MF Doom and Madlib together are unreal. Doom can't half make a beat but also he can rap and Madlib is such a good producer. Underground hip-hop!

You have no idea how jealous I am. They never played anywhere near me when I was a teenager, and they are never getting back together.

Johnny, this is a clip from last year at the same venue I was at last night. I'm really not big on tribute acts at all but the Smyths really are excellent.

I will do mate, I think I listened to that song you posted last night and liked it. Just checking out some new stuff now! I really need to get into some more electronic producers. Glad you like Mount Kimbie mate.

Four Tet is tweeting Mariah Carey asking her if she wants to collaborate with him and Burial, hahahaha. Don't think she's replied yet.

Not a massive fan of new Mount Kimbie. Their vocals are not needed which ruins the better songs and the songs without vocals are boring. Seems they are at a crossroads with what they want to do and feels a little rush.

If you're looking for some new producers, i recommend John Roberts

Few others would be Theo Parrish, Moodymann, DJ Sprinkles, DJ Koze, Matthew Dear and Andy Stott.

The latter three i think you could like instantly, the others may take a bit of time.

I like the new album but not as much as Crooks and Lovers. I'd say there's 3 or 4 songs I really like, a few which are good and then one or two which are as you say spoiled by some knob head singer, so I agree partly. I really like "Home Recording" and "Made To Stray".

Cheers mate, I'll check them out. I like that tune that you've just posted.

That's all I've been doing these past few days is just remembering the electronic artists I'd heard the odd song from and listening to pretty much all their stuff. I watched some half an hour live set by Mount Kimbie last night when I couldn't sleep, it was boss even though it was directed really poorly.

I keep forgetting to listen to more Four Tet! I've heard a few but just having dug any deeper, keep getting carried away. I'd laugh if Mariah Carey said yes.

You can make an argument for the Rolling Stones and most would agree with you. Stone Roses produced one brilliant album and one so-so one. Their output doesn't match The Smiths. I think if you asked Noel Gallagher who was better, he'd tell you the Smiths too. Pink Floyd? Meh. Some greatness, but a lot of overblown BS.

It's all opinion of course.

My thoughts entirely. I'd add the Bunnymen, the Clash and the Kinks as great British bands.

The Smiths, though, produced SO MUCH astonishingly good material in a 4 year recording period that, really, only the Beatles (1962-69), Bob Dylan (1962-67) and David Bowie (1970-80) can compare in terms of being on a massive, sustained, almost blemish-free creative roll.

I'll give these a go when I get home later. Cheers mate.

Yeah, Made to Stray is great. They could have made a good EP out of it.

Good, hope you enjoy. DJ Koze's album has loads of guests on, like Caribou, so think that would interest you.

Just noticed you mentioned Andy Stott. I've got his latest album "Luxury Problems", I've only listened to it once or twice but it didn't really grab me. I'll give it another go.

I've been doing similar mate. I used to listen to alot of Hospital Records' stuff and especially their sister label Medschool, they had some great little producers but I'm not so keen on the direction HR are taking now.

Yeah I heard that song first and prayed that the whole album would be similar.

I came across DJ Koze before actually, he's got a few albums hasn't he? Where would be best to start?
