What are you currently listening to?

Haha! I just can't bare to listen to regurgitated simple 4/4 beats with autotuned vocals and no talent needed whatsoever in the production of the song. Or when people like Pitbull (saying his name makes me shudder) taking older and good songs and just using parts of them in his and ruining them! God, I need to calm down.

This is a safe zone. I get angry when I go out in the world too.

JD, the outro to that album is pure beauty, nothing else to describe it! Jesus. Foals are quality as well! A song by them which like nobody knows which I want to learn on guitar so bad.

Cheers. You've made my day by liking that. I feel like I'm a missionary sometimes, although you didn't really need to be converted.

I'd rather not listen to anything than listen to that kind of thing. David Guetta is largely responsible for the sh*te R&B/dance/whatever that's on the radio now. I also HATE the way mainstream has taken Drum and Bass and Dubstep. Although large parts of Dubstep were always sh*te.

I'm the other way. I like Holy Fire better!

Really? Interesting!

Maybe it's just me. I think Total Life Forever coincided with a bit of a personal low point and it's quite a deep listen in parts!

The whole dubstep/DnB in mainstream music has just gone wayyyy too far. People are just loving to get dirty, screaming bass from the likes of Skrillex and say it's good, nah. Dubstep did come on over the past few years then just all got turned into the same stuff. It's all just a joke and I'd love to right hook David Guetta the melt.

Spot on mate.

LOVE DA DIRTY SKANKIN GRIMEY BASS ME I DO ME YANO!

Skrillex, Skream and Benga (who both used to be good) have a lot to answer for in terms of mainstreaming Dubstep. Sometimes I'll hear a DnB track on the radio which I actually like, but then I realised it's because it's a carbon copy of stuff I was listening to about 5 years ago!

You might like this BLF mate, another one of my random ambient tunes.

Benga was so sick! It's just horrid like I said of how far it's gone, did I post that Summer Drummer DnB track in here? Lovely, lovely tune.

To be perfectly honest myself, I do like them but I'd say that at least a third of their songs are "meh" or a bit ****. Possibly more. I think they're almost a bit too experimental at times and it doesn't work, but that happens with experimental artists sometimes. Some of the beats they use are strange and in one or two of their songs the timing almost changes from 4:4 to 3:4. When it does work though it's brilliant and a few of their songs are amongst my favourite electronic tracks ever.

Like this one:

And so brilliance is born in experimentation, I'll keep an ear out for them and cheers for the introduction.

I like this mate. I've not got my headphones with me at the moment so I've just got my laptop speakers - which quite frankly is a cardinal sin in the Music Clique - so I've kind of got to pretend the bass is there! Forgive me, for I have sinned.

You are forgiven mate. I didn't realise I had some of his stuff till I had a proper look, some of it is hit and miss in my opinion but I've only heard a few. Going to check some Four Tet and Mount Kimbie now actually. My headphones are absolutely brilliant for music.
