What's most annoying to me is that an awful lot of chart music is just polished, over produced dubstep/DnB, genres I used to absolutely love. They've been so watered down with sh*te now though that it's hard to find good stuff. If the ambient/minimal electronic music I like ever goes mainstream though I'm done with this planet.

I know what you mean mate, all the same drops and layout and people just reckon that's good and when anyone brings anything out that is like the old stuff and is actually decent it gets hated on which baffles me.

What ambient stuff are you into mate? Been getting into a lot of ambient/electronic stuff lately myself.

Yeah I f*cking hate the word "drop" now, as if every song has to have it. So predictable. It's "producers" like Avicii and David Guetta who annoy me most. Boring as [Poor language removed] dance songs with about 3 layers in with the exact same structure as their last song.

I've been in to minimal DnB for a good while, Hospital Records and their smaller Medschool section have churned out some great producers in the past, that kind of started a bit of an obsession for chilled out electronic music. I'm not one to categorise everything into sub-genres but I really like 2-step and post-dubstep and a bit of trip-hop.

I can't recommend the likes of Bonobo and Four Tet highly enough. They're in a different league to most electronic producers. Synkro is another personal favourite of mine, as are Mount Kimbie, Burial and Helios.

Annoying isn't it! All just regurgitated rubbish that came out the week before. I've heard a few releases from Hospital and enjoyed them. I've been really getting into Stumbleine lately, give Cherry Blossom and Kaleidoscope a go mate, beautiful tunes. I love Burial as well! Heard of Four Tet but never gave it a go. I'll check that song below now as well mate.

Great isn't it. You might like Synkro and Kiyoko if you liked that. Kiyoko is made up of Synkro and Bering Strait (the producer of the songs you just listened to) and they make some lovely music.

I'll give them a go later mate for sure! Give Medicin - Summer Drummer a go mate, a really chilled DnB tune, make sure it's the original though.
