Seems pretty hip to have a jibe at Weatherspoons lately.

Not for me , I've been in a lot worse establishments (& sadly still do ) mainly owned by huge companies that serve vastly overpriced generic fare .
My local Spoons i can get a hot cooked breakfast cheaper than a McDonalds.
A decent fish & chips , plenty of kids meals too & a hearty Roast.
I get a very decent pint of Guinness for under 4 quid and a very good selection of reasonably beers & lagers plus guest tipples.

But if the hipsters don't fancy it that's fine go somewhere else to get your wallet lightened.
This...well it would be ' this' here in Australia, if we had a Wetherspoons, there are plenty of mini/micro...costly-ish brew-pubs.
But the rest of Australia is a virtual Carlton desert, with banks of 6, 8. 10 pumps all with different names but it's all basically yellow Budweiser-esque pisswater

What happened? I remember 4X being pretty good (and far better than US slop like Coors or Budweiser). But it depends on the climate, I suppose. (In hot climates you need a thirst quencher rather than a tasty beer like German Bock or Weizen.)
