It was indeed a valiant effort, but could have been even better if Mr.Barkley had played to even 50% of his potential instead of bottling every tackle he could have made.

I so want him to be our next true Blue legend, but he needs to grow a pair and get stuck in.

I've said it earlier, but he needs a one-on-one mentor to straighten out his head and his game, almost a personal coach and if he is gonna be a true midfield star, the club needs to get someone like a Colin Harvey to take on that role.

Ross needs help and he ain't getting it for me from any of the current coaching staff.

Alas Block, I don't think Ross is going to mature into anything like the player we hoped he was going to.

He has the potential to be a very good player but he is not going to be the new Wayne as we all once believed.

I'm gutted, great effort with 10 men. I can't help thinking 28m buys you a striker who can finish in big matches under pressure and Rom shoots wide in extra time. I'm not blaming him but just wondering it other strikers that demand such a fee would have done the same.....
That's a bit harsh on rom he made the chance all by himself and miss shot,he's very good for a 21 year old.Pay over 50mil you may get a striker that can nearly score all the time, that's how daft the game has gone.

I so, so, so, so hope you are wrong for his sake and for the sake of Everton.

Even though we lost, I have to say I’m proud of the performance the Toffees had. Giving up the first goal and being reduced to ten men after Aiden McGeady being sent off usually would have been the beginning of the end, but the club scratched and crawled to send it into extra time and even took the lead. Once Carlton Cole came in though, I knew it would be a struggle given that we were down a man and West Ham thrive off of set piece goals and sure have it, my fears came to fruition.

But I have to give credit to Joel Robles. Even though we lost, he played a good game and had to make several crunch saves throughout the match, especially when it was all hands to the pump when McGeady got sent off. He did his best in my opinion.

It’s just a shame because it didn’t need to be this way. Everton had a few sitters in the game they didn’t bury. They make those and were in, but I guess if you can play the ”what if” game, it can go both ways because West Ham had a few clear chances they didn’t bury as well.

I’m proud of the effort the club showed tonight, just wish we can parlay that effort into a W, especially tonight since it was a FA Cup tie with 3,000 Toffees in attendance and because I hate West Ham and Fat Sam to death.

Oh well, just got to focus our efforts on Monday against West Brom.

a lot of our players got lucky with theirs, the only one he got close to was the one he saved. great performance from him, but i hope we don't concede any pens this season ha

Kept diving to his right and they were just slotting them to his left with ease. Happened about 3 or 4 times in a row. He definitely needs to work on them.

He has potential though, I'm happy with what I've seen of him.

@neilashton_: Eto'o leaving Everton, pretty much confirmed by Martinez. 'Contact from two clubs.'

sad, don't really care too much at this point in time, i trust martinez' judgement though. there's obviously something behind the scenes otherwise we wouldn't have let him go. we need to be looking at other areas, this is not what we needed tbh. i wouldn't be surprised if he didn't get another striker in jan and stay with lukaku, kone and naismith.

ings free in the summer and austin and benteke could get relegated so there will be a few options for a decentish backup on cheap.
