It’s down to the tactics. We don’t cross and there is no creativity. When the players get the ball they don’t know who they can pass to.

You can’t absolve players of the blame. Mylenko, Coleman, Gray, Iwobi are nothing players, timid and scared - no aggression to take the game to the opposition. You can’t put it on tactics - when your attack relies on four players that poor, your never going to carry much threat. Folk need to wake up to that.

The possession was utterly meaningless wasn't it? Iwobi, Onana and the full backs offer so little going forward.

They said on my commentary this is exactly how current West Ham try to play. Soak up and stifle, but have threatening quality players up top. Once they have the ball, attack in numbers and have decent quality. I’d rather have 20% possession but the ball spending all its time in their box, or bouncing out for corners.

We helped take all the pressure off their nervous players by passing it round the back whenever we had it for the first half hour. They calm down, realise we have no threat, commit a few forward, score. There must be a gas leak or something at FF. Every coach, manager, player and physio immediately become utterly stupid the moment they go there.
