Whats the excuse for them winning the FA Cup last year?

End of the day, you go and try and win the trophies in front of you regardless.

I'm not discrediting their FA Cup win. I'm saying that any English team should be getting to the semis of the Europa and Conference Leagues now, given their relative wealth, and the fact that teams no longer drop down from the higher competition midway.

I was extremely confident that they'd win this, or indeed the Europa League had they not been scammed out of it, after they won the FA Cup.

It's why I'm devastated we aren't in the Europa or the Conference because we'd be one of the favourites.

Fair play to Palace. They absolutely deserve this. This is what happens when you appoint a winner and actually have a go. Its not like they're are going to win the league in the near future, or even get better then this. They'll likely continue to either finish around the same position as us, they might even go on a bit of a downward trajectory under whoever takes over them next season. But they'll have moments to cherish forever. In two seasons they've achieved more then we have in almost four decades. They're an example of what any club can achieve with the right attitude and some graft, determination and a postive outlook. We are at other end if the spectrum, we've played it safe and gone for stability and what do we have to show for it? Four decades worth of failure. But hay, at least Moyes won't have us in a relegation battle eh lads?!
