There’s no reason to knock him as he’s been one of our better players in this awful season especially in the first half. Anyone with eyes though can see he can’t be part of a successful Everton going forward.

Surprised me that. I personally think his influence has waned as the season has progressed. And his reaction to being subbed in the derby worried me as he seemingly lacks the ability to rate his own performance. I can understand him being disappointed at coming off, but he reacted as if it was a crazy decision when in fact he'd stunk the place out for near 60 mins.

..he’s been fine and I don’t see why he can’t play a part next year in a better team with better players if used sparingly. He could be a useful impact substitute coming on to make a difference if needed.

..he’ll be earning that regardless and won’t be sold. I’m more concerned about other high earners who provide little or no input at all.

Thankfully he is in the last year of his contract and won't be getting another.
Hopefully some Chinese club buy the rest of his deal out with us in the summer.
Rooney another year on pretending to still be able to cut it as a Premier League player next season does bear thinking about.
I think Rooneys reaction to being subbed in the Derby is more to do with him struggling to come to terms with being unable to produce at a decent level anymore and letting his frustration out. Deep down he must know he was poor in the Derby and being subbed was the right decision.
..I doubt he’ll be wanting to go to China with another year left on his contract here. He would be the least of our problems, but I agree he won’t be a regular starter.
