Needs to play up top as one of two forwards or not at all. I still think Rooney has plenty to offer in the right circumstances. Unfortunately, he's always had a weakness of dropping too deep when he's not involved enough, and this is where he tends to give it away. Part of his sentence should have been an electric tag which gave him a jolt in the knackers every time he drops into his own half.

Rooney is no doubt a great talent, but he really needs to just be a sub at this point or at the very least not be started every game. He should trade time with Gylfi or be a sub for Davies. He could be a great tactical sub.
