Watford Fan - Gerard Deulofeu

I would still love to have him at the club, although as an impact player only. You never know he may have increased his lung capacity. But he's a match winner, you cant take that away from him

At least it would only be for 45 minutes with a 1 in 6 chance he could be arsed to put in a performance.

you'd think he was some sort of superstar who be nailed on for a place in our first team the way some of our fans talk about him

Lukaku yes he’s great but some fans are massively overrate Del, Barkley and Stones who were the core of 2 mid table finish in a row. Young and promising but have to fulfill the potential. I was told Del was making it at Baca but 6 months later he was off to Watford.

If nothing else, Deulo should be getting plenty of minutes from Gracia which the player desperately needs. Inexplicable why Valverde used him so little when there was a real need for wingers but he has stuck with a 4-4-2 and there has been no place for him with Ousmane injured

A lot of talk about "lung capacity", I just wonder if the issue is desire.

When he was on fire he was as good as anything I've seen (in 3 second bursts..). He could torment defenders & those low diagonal bullets were a defender's nightmare. As we know, he was rarely on fire & often looked like his head wasn't in the game.

Most of us struggle with motivation in some way. Imagine being a millionaire & having everything on demand. Not everyone has the mindset & character to give it 100% when they can have everything anyway. He could sort his lungs out in 6 weeks, but I suspect he just doesn't want it enough. Look at C. Ronaldo. Never looks satisfied. I reckon Deulofeu is in the same box as Rodwell.

Barnsley away in the League Cup was one of his stand out performances for me. Him and Ross came on at HT and Geri ran them ragged, he had a blinder against West Brom away as well. When we came from behind to win 3-2, put a couple of great balls in for Roms goals!

He'll do some ticky tacky, multi stepovers then fall over the ball, throw his arms in the air and blame anybody but himself. A bit like Lukaku.

Came off the bench at Arsenal. Instant impact. Scored the equaliser.

FAC Semi final, came on & changed the game. Utd defense looked panicked all of a sudden & Smalling put his cross through his own net (which Lukaku had failed to do with 4 clear cut chances & a Penalty).

He's a top, top player that needs a proper conditioning coach. And once he has one, he needs to be mature enough to follow any advice accordingly.

I would have him back in a heart-beat.

Doesn’t have the work ethic or stamina needed as a modern day player to go with his obvious natural talent, hence why he’s been at 4 clubs in the last year or two. A complete liability in my opinion.
