"Watch Classic Matches Again"

I went without a coat and had just a t shirt on, got absolutely soaked. We stopped off in some boozer on way home and we stripped off and put our gear on the radiators !! The face on the landlord was a picture! !:)

Makes me sad that it was so long ago when Sharp scored that goal at the pit. I remember being in the Annie Road with my Dad and my brothers. I was only 10 and I thought it was always going to be like that.

God knows what he’s making of this up in heaven.

The Notts County cup game was one of the best ever away games for so many reasons, but particularly for the humour in the pouring rain.

I was in the open end behind the goal and not only was the rain lashing it down but because of the floodlights being part of the terracing you couldn't see a bloody thing. There were a number who had climbed up the floodlights to get some sort of view. The Police weren't happy and forced their way (somehow) through the crowd to the foot of the floodlights to try and get them down. "Leave them up there, they're letting us know what's going on" and "Shake 'em down" were among the shouts as they tried to. Everyone in bulk.

Football following at its very best. Supporting Everton was so much fun in those days, and not just because we were brilliant on the pitch.
