In a way what Dunc did was the best thing (but it does carry future risks) but shouldn’t if Kean mans up. I bet if in the coming games Kean comes on he will then bust a gut to attack and defend, so possibly it could be a master stroke. Yes Dunc could explain it to players in training, But what better way than doing it on match day. It’s unlikely it will ever happen to Kean again, but if he’s sensible he will take it on board and learn from it.

Had a look at redcafe to see what their take was.
I like how

1. Some Americans can’t even understand the intricacies of “it’s fine”.
2. Never heard of Ferguson or understand his accent (who was their greatest manager?)
3. Hate his Everton sweatband

It did look brutal. I've been so impressed with Duncan's start as manager that I don't want this issue to gloss over what was a very good team performance. However that's probably the reality.

It will be interesting to see how Duncan responds to this. I think he probably needs to say something tomorrow because this story is not going to drop. It will overshadow preparations for the game this week if he doesn't put it to bed. In all likelihood, I think he needs to make a grovelling public apology to Kean (as difficult as it will be to do it) and sit the lad down for a heart to heart. If he wants to get rid in January, he'll have everyone's support to do so.
Haha Dunc make a public apology that won’t happen he will stand by what he did, it’s Kean that needs to forget it train hard get on the bench for the next game and take his chance when it comes. Dunc will separate the men from the boys, Kean needs to be in the men’s bracket, not sulking down the line like a spoilt kid because he hasn’t got his own way.

Me too, I think the players will side with Kean, that’s a move you pull if you think the other players agree with it and will make the player subbed get in line with everyone else. But the players will talk about it wondering if it could be them next. And do Everton really need any more issues at this stage? I hope the new manager comes in soon so this whole thing blows over.

I think the opposite. The players will be right behind the decision he made seeing as they had grabbed the point. I reckon they like to see anyone who gets on the pitch put a shift in. He was weak when he came on and Ferguson addressed that.

Player power hopefully has no place in Fergusons dressing room.

They won’t while we’re getting results and they’re working their balls off mate.

The lad just doesn't look anywhere near ready.

Not the end of the world at his age, De Bruyne and Salah failed at their first crack at the PL, but I doubt we're going to see very much from him before he forces through a move back to Italy ASAP.

Was never what we needed in the first place.

Why can’t we just be flippin’ happy after two games which have seen a completely different Everton to what we have witnessed this past few years?

Instead of actually looking for sommat to moan about.

Dunc sent him on.....Dunc fetched him off.

Simple as.

His decision......let’s save the fuming until he makes a decision which discernibly costs us points.

Kean stomping off down the touchline made an embarrassing situation for him look even worse. He should have just gone and sat back on the subs bench.
Totally this, it was fair enough him shunning Dunc but should have gone to the bench. TBH that should be a rule, unless you are sent off or have to go because of injury.
