I must apologise, I thought, outside of the RS thread, that reasoned, constructive debate could be had.
There is. If you use common sense and ignore obvious piss-take threads and don't expect to hear positive things about our local rivals greatest manager.......
Our hatred for all things them is actually holding us back IMO. Just look at the shortlist for our next manager, it’s a sad indictment of where we are. I’d love Benitez to have a go, but no, he's managed them, so most of our fanbase won’t have it. Rodgers, obviously at Leics now so won’t happen, I’d love him to have a go. No, our fanbase won’t have it.
Our hatred is holding back?
As though the RS would of taken an Alex Ferguson or a Jose Mourinho as manager before Klopp arrived. Again, I have to question if you are new to both football and the internet!
Funny you mention Benitez though because I'd be sound with him as our manager and I know most people who sit around me in the Gwladys would also be all for it so you're totally wrong to say "our" fanbase won't have it.
You're right that I wouldn't want Rogers though, he's a fraud. So he's having a decent season at Leicester. He did that with the RS before he got found out.
Players? It’s happened before where one of theirs has crossed the park not that long ago. Beardsley and Ablett, wouldn’t happen today, no chance.
How many ex RS players do you reckon even want to play for us right now anyway ffs.
You're just being daft if you reckon that the RS wouldn't be exacally the same about taking our old cast offs or that they wouldn't be horrible to any former player who dared join us now if we where good and they where crap.
Are you totally new to footie or somthing?!
The shortlist for the next Barca manager has 2 ex Everton managers near the top. Both deemed not good enough for us! Martinez was a decent manager for us, it did go wrong like, but the toxicity directed towards him is again, quite sad.
Martinez wasn't "decent" for us. If you'd actually attend matchs then you'd know it.
We won seven league home games in 14-15 and followed that up with six (the last of which wasn't even under his watch) in 15-16 which is an all time club record. If you honestly believe that any club (let alone one that had aspirations for the top five, like we did until Martinez worked his magic) would tolerate results like that then you're an idiot.
There was hardly any "toxicity" directed at Martinez actually at the match. You'd know this if you'd ever gone the game. A handful of lads occasionally shouting obscenities at the manager while their team is losing is petty common at every single football club.
The only time he ever faced anything more then that was after his last ever home game againt Bormouth when fifty odd people stayed in the Gwladys for half an hour after the game only to be drowned out by the club playing music over the speaker.
Who can forget Koeman for the stick he got from some quarters for having the cheek to have red on his Xmas tree.
You're either totally unable or unwilling to differentiate between the vast majority of fans at the game and a handful of lads chatting wham on the net. The fact that you even rember that is incredible.
I honestly think our fanbase is playing a part in our transgression.
Sure, its our fanbase who've been responsible for the awful recuritment of both players and managers. Its our fans who give substandard performances on the pitch most weeks. Its our fans who've methodically stripped away all the ambitions of the club.
And here was silly me thinking that in real life all fans actually have next to zero impact on their club........
