It would be nice to make a managerial appointment worthy of a “big” club once in a while.

...these statements sound grand but I never quite understand what they mean.

Surely its about making the right appointment, not the right sounding appointment. United has struggled with Managerial appointments since SAF, the Reds took a while to find Klopp. They are big clubs yet Leicester won a Premier League title.

i just think it’s incredibly hard finding the right man. I honestly have no idea who might be good for us.

Another three years would have been better, he was an excellent centre half, just wasn’t fit or ready for that Liverpool game.

Mike I worked one of their games and he started abar 6 centre mids and was one down after about ten minutes.

Had about one shot on target by the final whistle. Up there with anything we suffered until Scamuel.

One of the most boring games I’ve ever sat through in over 50 years of supporting Everton was without a doubt Allardyce’s Everton v Benitez Bar Codes. I had slipped into semi comatose state when Walcott scored and took me some seconds to realise that what seemed like an aberration in the context of the game was in fact a goal to us.
Benitez and Allardyce are two managers to whom the word ‘entertainment’ is a needless vulgarity, the crown princes of anti- football.

Given the fact that Fulham have won the square root of jack all that matters, and have spent far more years outside the top flight than in it, I think it's fair to call them a small club.

So it's an extremely dumb choice of clubs to use to illustrate your point.
