Only ever watched them on tele when they were playing any of the Manc's, Chelsea, Arsenal,hoping to see them getting a pasting.
Hoddle supposedly taking over.

He just starts on a stream of thought like this and sounds as if he doesn't even take a breath while he rattles on about a piece of skill he once saw a young Andy Reid do out on the practice pitch when he was coming up in the Ireland national team and how it's those bits of skill that unlock defences if teams are playing two banks of four and....

When I was a kid the Radio commentator for "soccer" in Ireland was Phil Green
He just talked randomly about the weather, the ground, the supporters and occasionally the match
While listening in the back of my Dad's car in the early 70s to him commentary to a match between Finn Harps and some one else he uttered teh immortal lines
Finn Harps today are kitted out in Blue tops and green shorts, and you know what they say about blue and green, blue and green should never be seen except, oh there's a goal, a goal for Finn Harps!
