Trying not to panic about stuff like this. Even if every word is true and contract terms are broadly agreed that doesn’t mean he’s been selected. I imagine in a process like this contract terms will be discussed and possibly agreed with agents of all candidates in parallel with the interview process, obviously knowing the financial aspect helps make the decision, but also to speed things up when a decision is made.
