That's not actually true, he is defo a better defensive player no doubt, but if you actually look he spends most of time in the middle part of the pitch or further up rather than sat back all the time. It just is more of an attacking game these days and teams need to take that onboard. We could give Benitez the £500m that was wasted but it won't make any difference who comes in if we are just going to sit back in games all the time and hit on the break, it's Sunday league stuff that and has nothing to do with expectations or anything, it's the basics of the game and it invites trouble. I have no problem with playing counter attack football (our neighbours have won a PL and CL doing so) but there are more modern ways of doing it than the Benitez way and injuries and spending have feck all to do with it.
