Great player, been tracking him since he broke into the u18 Kiev team. I'm an avid watcher of their reserve togger
His partnership down the left flank with Yuri Shibenov has been particularly impressive. The pair of them have really mastered the Lobanovskyi gugenpress and have dominated the inside left quadrant throughout all of their matches, really overloading the right side defensive structures that are common in modern footballing philosophies. I know Mihaly Lebonovsky (no relation to Lobanovskyi of course) for one thinks he has everything it takes to get to the very top as he has likened him to Ruud Krol in his tireless engine, spotless technique, and ability to ghost into spaces others can't see.

It's ok saying "why are we selling Digne" and putting it all on Rafael. Has anyone considered that he's well and truly thrown his toys out the pram and is now refusing to play/demanding a move?

He's been underperforming for over a year now. Sell him, bring in the Eastern European Godfrey. Have him smash through players and Goodison will be a bear pit. Genius from Rafael. Not only does he get the city, he gets Everton. In some ways, welcome home Rafael.

Drives out France international left back
Signs someone no one's ever heard of for what looks like a VERY high fee

All hail the Rafatollah!
Sells one of our only sellable assets for profit when he's been out of form for 12 months, turns 29 this year and is currently on strike. It's a strange move to freeze him out if he's not already agreed a fee but let's face it they probably agreed a sale a while ago. People are hung up on the french international thing, the last French squad had great players like Dubois, Guendouzi and Veretout in it who cares?

As for Mykolenko he's touted as one of the best young left backs. Whether he is or not nobody except hopefully our scouts know. But it's not like he's some jobber when he's been linked with all the top clubs previously

Sweet, how much did we make on the Digne sale?

Obviously right back position should be number 1 priority.

Fans will obviously be upset losing a decent player, but if you hand zero funds and wanted to bring in new blood who would you sell to change thing's? Not many options on the table.

We could just do nothing, play mid table football for another season and give Digne a 5 year deal and never get a return on investment.

So we're staying has orchestrated all this just to get funds?

I'm all for bringing in players. But for seasons a left back hasn't been on the list of things to fix at Everton FC.

Suddenly overnight it is, and we have, by selling a LB and buying...a LB.

It's madness
