2024/25 Vitalii Mykolenko

Seems undeniably a nice lad and has engendered a lot of compassion and sympathy given his nationality and probably family concerns back home. But he needs to be replaced, upgrade badly needed (x2 as he should not be backup either).

Compared to theirs today, he lacks everything that young lad has.

Good comparison. People who thought Mykolenko had a decent season last year because he was defensively solid at times should look at that Brentford full back today. They're a decent midtable side, nothing more, and he was streets ahead of what we have.

We can't say Mykolenko is a decent option and then complain when we languish around the bottom 3 again.

I'll be honest, I did think he was very good defensively and would improve to be okay offensively in time. He has gotten so much worse in both areas since the last half of last season. Poses no threat whatsoever and you can see the defenders just let him have the ball down the pitch because they know he will either pass it back or give the ball away.

That corner where they purposefully passed the ball to him...why? What the hell is he going to do with it other than give it away or send a weak cross into the first man or over the goal. Did they actually practice doing that, that alone should get Dyche sacked.

Abysmal going forward

The 1 cross he attempted went out of play
I can think of about 10 crosses he attempted today but none beat the first man. The idea we don’t get him into positions is just dead weird, he gets forward as much as any normal full back, he just does absolutely nothing with it when he gets there.
