There isn’t really. Not at left back for a team with no European games etc. You have your first choice and you have back up, we have definitely not paid the best part of £20m for back up.

I’m with @BlueToff he looks a little bit more raw than I would have liked but he’s young and it’s early days so I’m not overly concerned.

Its £17mil including add ons...

Im guessing but if Patterson was £11mil with add ons rising to £16mil.

Perhaps Myko was £12mil down?

If so, thats a really good deal and makes sense because then both full backs probably cost the same as Digne and less wages.

Perhaps Myko will be our defensive option vs. better teams and Nkounkou comes in against the worse teams where we just need to keep smashing crosses in

I've watched some more clips back and he was really neat and tidy in possession, mainly. And like I said I really thought he defended well.

I accept that he's just a level below what we're used to but as like you say he's young, he's going to be able to develop. Yesterday will hopefully have done him the world of good.

I don't think he's a wing-back and that won't have helped but atm it's needs must.

I think confidence is key for the lad. Once he settles and feels comfortable with the team he will improve without doubt. At the moment, he looks like his airing on the side of caution and taking the safe option. Will expand his game more over time.
