Vaughan Set For Comeback – News Archive – News – evertonfc.com – The Official Website of Everton Football Club

James Vaughan returns to action tonight.

The striker will line up for Everton reserves as they travel to Sunderland on Wednesday evening.

Vaughan has been sidelined since November with a knee problem which required surgery.

But he resumed full training last week and is handed a first run out against the Black Cats.

The 20-year-old is joined in the starting XI by recognised names Carlo Nash and Jose Baxter, while the rest of the squad are reserve-team regulars.

Kieran Agard and James Wallace have been unused substitutes for the first team this term and both start this clash.
A win for Sunderland would secure the Barclays Premier League North title for the North East outfit.

Everton:
Nash, Irving, Barnett, Wallace, Duffy, Sinnott, Kissock, Akpan, Vaughan, Agard, Baxter, Stubhaug, Forshaw, Kinsella, Craig, Nsiala.

Good news. I hope they don't rush the lad back into the first team, we are doing ok at the moment and can afford to take some time to ease him back.

He'll hopefully be fit enough to play a part in the Utd game, we need some forward options. Especially with Jo cup tied.

Excellent news, i think most have forgotten how good Jimmy actually is. Its a pity the Wigan game to soon for him woul dhave been an idel oppurtunity to give him a few minutes in the second half.

Thtas a really promiseing and young reserve side it has to be said.

am not even going to bother getting excited, no doubt he will dislocate his left ear lobe of something before the end of the season

Great to have him back even if he's another option off the bench, his pace and workrate have been sorely missed.
