Three games, three key decisions and each one..... wrong. OMG, how bad is this?
It's not like it is a referee making a split second decision. Well, it is, but it is the referee in the VAR making a cool calm decision, carefully assessing everything and then giving his "expert" advice. And still getting it wrong. 3 different referees. This is abysmal. No other word I can think of.

It’s blatant cheating.

It's partly down to ego as well. A lot of the refs in our league love the fact that they are known names with different reputations and it's been the same for years. I get the feeling the ''clear and obvious'' rule has been used to mask not wanting to admit that the refs in this league get a lot of big decisions wrong. We've had tits like Howard Webb prance around the pitch like his Jimmy White doesn't stink, we've got Michael Oliver running around with go faster stripes shaved in to his head and we've got the likes of Jon Moss who can barely run.

The refs in this league like to be part of the show rather than an actual official. It's all been about keeping the status quo.

It has been the single most contributing factor to why this season is a write off. Worse than the virus stoppage imo. I have no feelings towards the game any more . Maybe because Everton keep dumping on me like the uninterested love of my teens but my brother is the same and he supports another team. He has lost interest too. VAR mostly the reason. The PL are arrogant to think they need to do it their way. They have ruined it

On MOTD they've said the PGMOL have admitted Southampton's penalty v us, Man U's penalty v Villa, and Spurs' ungiven penalty v Bournemouth were all wrong decisions.
A f'up in every game is unacceptable. This is the Premier League for god's sake. Standards must be higher.
It's not an eff up, it's corruption. The same ref and video ref giving non-existent penalties against Everton for Soton and Brighton? For money and to benefit certain teams.

It’s a case of the Premier League just wanting to protect its most valuable participants, that’s blatantly all it is, they clearly don’t care about the ramifications these decisions have on the ‘other’ teams. It’s blatant corruption looking at us right in the eyes but sadly nobody will speak up about it.

And how was Richarlison not denied a goal scoring opportunity? Dead centre, 20 yards out out and about 5 yards in front of the rest of the defence.

Also, will the players who won the incorrect penalties get punished for simulation like Niasse did? Definitely not as one of them is Utd's key player.

If the hit rate is that bad they may as well leave it to the referees to make the decisions. Also what is the consequences of getting these decisions wrong? I assume it wasn't the same person getting all 3 calls wrong, but there should be a totting up process where they are sacked if they make x amount of mistakes per season. Perhaps that would focus their minds a bit more.

Referees should be held accountable, the VAR assistants should be held accountable as well.

They've admitted to getting the Ward Prowse penalty wrong so immediately they should be calling him out for diving and giving him a 3 match ban

No mention of the Gordon penalty incident

No explanation how the defender wasn't sent off for being last man 18 yards from goal

VAR is rotten to the core, just as the referees are but now it's double the dose of shocking decisions instead of just having to put up with the referee

This would be flipping unacceptable if it had just been the onfield officials who screwed it up. But they reviewed these decisions from several camera angles and still came back with the wrong decision. It's hard to justify how that could be anything but intentional. If not everyone should be fired. Find all new officials because that's a freaking joke.
or evidence of (un)conscious bias, they are looking for evidence that confirms what they want to happen rather than looking at it objectively. This is a massive red flag into how the 'thought speak' must be at FAHQ. It must be common talk that its 'good for the game' if the big names are successful.

This project restart has done more than anything to put me off the game. I'm on the season ticket waiting list, I'm not sure I'd take up the offer if I was offered one.
