McBain

Player Valuation: £80m
Watched the Pilot Ep last night, and thought it was pretty good. Steady script, while a little too sentimental, great production value and made me want to watch the rest of it.

I did think they could have drawn out the lizard in human skin reveal to maybe ep 2, but on the whole, while no 1st ep Lost, it did quite well.

Anyone else seen it? Can't remember the original but I was chatting to someone who'd watched it recently and said it was really dated. How is your memory of the the original? I remember it being the hottest show on TV back in the day.

I read on wiki the first four eps came out in the US in November, and the rest of the series will screen soon.

i can remeber it quite well as i recall in the mid 80's one biatch tha diana

Remember the original myself, didn't realise they had remade it. Have they found a part for freddy kruger as for sentimental value he has to be in it. I remember that the lizards when in skin had very tight costumes. and big hair obv.

I'm not here to win prizes for ( my name ) a random -derivitive-TV show .

I remember the original, some memorable moments. Like when Diana ate the rat whole. It would look a bit dated now though.

I recall the original series quite well. The signature tune over the end credits was quite hypnotic and menacing - remember quite liking it at the time. Probably think it's crap if I heard it now.

I think Arthur C Clarke worked on the series - it has a slight similarity to his definitive Childhood's End - the brilliant story of the arrival of extraterrestrials in the modern world and their hidden purpose in coming here. Makes Independence Day look like a crap film (oh....wait....it is a crap film....)

This story is much weaker. I remember in the end it becomes a thinly disguised retelling of the oppression of jews by the nazis. When the lizards start to take political control of our planet, the actors who protest even seem to have jewish accents

I remember it well.
It was about 27 years ago if my memory serves me correctly. I know this for a fact lol, as something else took place at the same time.:)

Clarke didn't work on it, but it was lifted from a variety of sci fi stories. The guy that made it had to change it ti Sci-fi from Network pressure to cash in on the Star Wars hype.

I think I'm quoting the great man himself. I'm sure I read somewhere in the foreword to one of his novels, that he happened to be in California or somewhere, working on the production of the V series. Perhaps he was an adviser/consultant....Now that you've challenged me, McBain, I'll not rest until I've found the reference. It might be the foreword to one of the Rama books. I'll check and let you know which of is right!
