Wish he would come in and bankroll a top manager.

We've had nothing but clowns since Moyes left.
Have you seen the new FFP rules coming in next summer to stop another club being bankrolled like Chelsea City and PSG, the old guard all came together after the La Liga boss was complaining about PSG signing Neymar and Mbappe and City splurging £400 million net summer 2017.

The rules were agreed by the ECA (European club association) 220 member clubs last international break, City and PSG were against them (no surprise).

25 man squads (6 loans limit) and £89 million net spend and clubs will be scrutinised for commercial deals to stop owner link deals boosting turnovers like PSG and City.

Clubs always have and will break the rules. EUFA are paper bosses the real bosses are the ones bringing the moolah in and they dont care if they are slapped with fines.

Nothing stopping Usmanov for example - giving EFC a £40 million a year stadium naming rights deal for BMD as he would have no link to the club and EUFA could do sod all to stop it

£40 million won't do diddly squat mate,it doesn't even buy you a world class fullback or goalie with today's inflated transfer fee market and the upcoming spending net rule limit.

City have 4-5 commercial partners from Abu Dhabi that's boosted their commercial revenue to £280 million pounds.

PSG have a Qatar Tourism Board commercial deal worth €200 million a year.

What billionaire funds a sports team on the quiet, these guys love showing other billionaires and people around the world their sports teams and toys, they have egos the sizes of their yachts.

Until political tensions ease I don't think anybody from Russia or that general area will want to be seen to invest in English football clubs.
However, it could be that their influence and wealth could help smooth the path for the finances for the new ground to be made available. Usmanov publicly joining Everton is more for the benefit of the fans than anything else.

I agree with this. Personally, I think he'll just sit in the background and fund his chosen projects from afar, which in our case means investing in his friends project without scrutiny.

The trouble is with these rules is they are too late the top teams have already benefited which means the likes of Everton can in no way catch them!

Everything starts somewhere, City didn't have amazing signings when they first got bank rolled
Might be my mission for the weekend; to look at City's evolution and try and see if Everton's performance under Moshiri relate in any way. It would be interesting to see if we are spending money like we are bankrolled by a super rich Moshiri or by a stupefyingly rich Usmanov.

City had 2 take-overs. Thaksin come in first and they signed jo, elano etc, and become mid ish table....

Then these come in, signed Robinho, lescott, adebayor, milner and barry and won titles.....

Yes. But it all kinda took off when the new stadium came through didn't it? It seems like city went through a lot of players and a few managers before becoming a real consistent force - but without looking at a timeline backed by facts I'm not sure how it went but I'm sure there was a lot of poor expensive outlays at the start which were whittled away and replaced with better over several seasons.
