Alisher Usmanov, potential Arsenal chairman, is a Vicious Thug, Criminal, Racketeer, Heroin Trafficker and Accused Rapist

Quite an interesting article on our new overlord. Some interesting comment by Arsenal fans underneath too, going back over 10 years, not wanting him involved. Having money and investment is brilliant but at what price? We pride ourselves on integrity and and being a family, community Club. Is everyone on board with this? Are we really so desperate for mega investment that people will overlook this mans past? There has been outrage (faux ?) whenever there’s been anything questionable, links or otherwise, with other Clubs or players being involved with shady characters and yet, we are all salivating over this man giving us investment. I was as desperate as the next man for him to come onboard, I didn’t know about the above story but having read it, I’m now not so sure. I take pride in this Clubs history, tradition and integrity. Are we gonna put all that at stake for a ‘ Vicious Thug, Criminal, Racketeer, Heroin Trafficker and Accused Rapist’?

Too right we are, come home Usmanov lad

It’s weird you can almost predict the ‘blues’ who post on here who’ll think we’ve overpaid for somebody , that we’ll be fighting with West Ham and Fulham to finish top half , that looking at it and although they “hate to say it that Liverpool have done some really good business “ and that they don’t want one of the richest men in world football at the club . Odd.

Calling them odd is being very, very charitable, mate.

Hi !! How is the Big Stand?? Joined GOT in May?? Hmmm sniffing something unpalatable here.

I think this
I can see a scenario where you sign up to buy one clubs games for the season
This then gives you the right to buy other games on a pay for view basis
I only watch Everton games and then just a few big games as they come up.
I’ve no interest in paying to watch Burnley vs Huddersfield on a Monday night
This was ruled out years ago as they said it would hit attendances. I think the Italian league suffered due to it.

For me it would be great though and I would certainly purchase

It would suit us fans that can’t get to all games. But at the moment the tv money is split equally between the clubs and then there is additional payments relating to the number of live fixtures you club is involved in. However can you imagine the revenue the RS and united would generate as they have the most armchair fans in football.

Yes. And an interesting scenario will develop when clubs negotiate their own rights. All hell will break loose in the UK if they go down the American route of blacking out the game within an area around the stadium. To implement this, clubs would initially sell most of the capacity of the stadium to long term (e.g.10 years...not transferable)season ticket purchasers, thus guaranteeing full houses(at least in the accounts) at every game. They could then black out TV broadcasting within, say, a 50 mile radius of the ground. The Americans did it the wrong way...they didn't guarantee stadium attendances before they blacked out TV. No one will make the same mistake again.

Tell you what is odd, that when someone posts something that doesn’t go with the narrative, they get accused of being RS. I was sent the article this morning and found it interesting. I posted it on here, rightfully, asking questions about his past. But if you are all willing to overlook his past, then that makes us all hypocrites. And we can no longer take the moral high ground, which is something we do. A lot. This club has a unique history, prides it’s self on the people’s club mantra, a community club, a family club full of integrity and honesty. I really wanted this fella to come. I knew nothing about his past, so I posted the information on here for you all to make your own minds up. Some of you might not have known about this also. The internet can educate you. Shoot me. The Arsenal fans in 2007 in the comments didn’t want him because they read the article. Articles like that sway people’s opinion. And it’s in the fans interest for it to come out.

To be honest mate you haven’t got to be from the region or even a closet RS to know there is plenty of rumour in his history , there is already loads out there and was when he moved into Arsenal .

@Russian Evertonian is an exiled political journalist though mate.

I should think he`ll have a much better knowledge of this, than virtually every single poster on here.

So do you want him to own us

If you read my post below I’ve said there is plenty about him out there , there is . In that post I didn’t accuse you of being a RS , I know you’ve been accused of it before.

I pointed out ,admittedly in a passive Aggressive way , the kind of ‘blues’ you can predict to post certain things . At least a couple of the above , if the memory serves , you have I fact posted .

If you’re a blue and that’s your opinion then you’re entitled to it fella no argument it’s an Everton forum . If you were a kopite though you’d be the worst kind , the pathetic ambushing type . Snakey , cowardly that didn’t even have the courage of his own convictions to defend his own scummy club and I couldn’t think of anything worse .

As you’ve said you’re a blue so none of that applies to you and you have what you say are legitimate concerns over the bloke. At present any reporting appears to be little more than media allegations and it’s not easy to find the truth in any convictions . If he did invest in Everton I’m sure those across the park would dig and dig into his history in a bid to discover any dark secrets , unless he was a racist of course which would be sound .
