Usmanov

I'm happy to be swept along with thoughts of Usmanov joining us.. but then I think if that were the case why is the stadium financing proving to be so difficult. And would we even need financing if Usmanov was really a shadowy figure behind all that's going on right now?

Something I’ve been trying to understand since the day Moshiri arrived, is how exactly the Arsenal shareholding works.

QUOTE

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ownership_of_Arsenal_F.C.

The ownership of Arsenal Football Club is considerably different from that of other clubs in English football. It is owned by a parent company, Arsenal Holdings plc, which has relatively few shares which are infrequently traded. Historically, the club has been owned by descendants of the Bracewell-Smith and Hill-Wood families, but since 2007 the club has attracted outside interest and two rival tycoons have acquired significant share holdings. As of 1 July 2011, the majority shareholder in the club is the American Stan Kroenke, who holds 67.05% of the parent company. His rival, the Russian-Uzbek Alisher Usmanov, owns 30.04%.[1] Under Takeover Panel rules, Kroenke must in due course make an offer for every available share in the club.[2]

UNQUOTE

- When exactly is “in due course”?
- Can he only sell to Kroenke?
- Is the share price fixed?

Just all seems ambiguous. What’s to stop Kroenke stalling for years? Usmanov doesn’t even have a voice on the board.
Not sure on the exact details but from what Ive read on here and on Arseblog
Usmanov has stated he will not sell to Kronke but will sell to another party.
Kronke has made 2 or 3 offers for Usmanovs shares and been told no,
Usmanov has made offers for Kronkes shares and been told no.
If Kronke gets 90% (or thereabouts ) of Arsenal shares he can force all other shareholders to sell to him.
Then he can incorporate Arsenal in the States along with his other sporting franchises

You wouldn't think it, but the top 6 bandwagon is only two years old now. And it arrived the first season AFTER Leicester City won the league, and Southampton finished 6th. And it was all mostly down to Manchester United finishing outside the top 4. Even the head of the Premier League said it was bad for the Premier League that Man Utd were doing bad. So they needed something.

Now pundits act like it's a ceiling that can't be broken. In reality they are all idiots. What's more annoying is fans repeating it. Especially two years ago when Everton were in the top 6 a few times, when they started talking about this so called top 6. But were totally ignored because it didn't fit the narrative.

They hated Leicester winning the league. I wondered how long it would be, until they went back to telling teams where they could or couldn't aim to finish. They have learnt nothing from what Leicester did, and how they were completely shown up in terms of what is or isn't possible. As I say it's taken them 2 years to revert to type.

It would be real Everton That if he died 1 hr before he signed all the agreed paperwork

Kroenke offered to buy out Usmanovs shares, he refused, so Kroenke is under no obligation to offer to buy them again.
Usmanov offered to buy out Kroenke who refused, as is his right, so you have a perfect stalemate. There is no fixed price for the shares.

So he could be stuck there for years. Everton that!

What annoys me when Everton we’re finishing 5th and 6th, it was referred to as the top 4. In recent years they have seen their beloved top 4, finish out of these places and it now referred to as the top 6. It seems to me there is something of an agenda against Everton in the media. They never seem to get credit they deserve. Take for instance the sacking of allardyce. Every football pundit and most national newspapers, were quick to criticise the club, as allardyce had ‘done his job in saving us from relegation’. Very few spoke out the dire football, the fragmented fanbase and his arrogance whilst in the job. The only way to make the critics eat their words is what we do on the pitch. Firstly we have to get things right off the pitch, before we do.
Genuine question, is this top 4 or top 6 correlated to the number of international supporters? As in they are appealing to growing supporter bases to sell their products? Did Leicester gain any traction world wide after their PL win?

Be interesting to see what happens now then.

Leicester have established a fanbase in the Far East, due to their owners and commercial deals. I think their title win gave them more media exposure then any recent champions, but although they win the respect of supporters for their achievements, I’m not sure if this translated into fans buying merchandise. The top 6 are streets ahead of the rest when it comes to commercial and merchandising deals, something the @The Esk has repeatedly raised in his review of our finances.

Tired of hearing this bit:

So Usmanov may well want to take his money to Goodison, but it will not be easy to get rid of his stake at Arsenal. Something he would have to do if he wants to invest in the Everton.

People - not named Usmanov - would want them shares. Kroenke would happily get someone else on the board, like one of his USA mates that he has floated the idea to in the past, if it strengthens his position.

There would be plenty of people ready to buy into a football club. There would be even more ready to buy into a profitable one like Arsenal.

It isn’t proving to be difficult.

We have arranged a fantastic deal with the council that’s made us the envy of clubs like Spurs and Arsenal who are paying over twice the interest we are. I suppose that’s the benefit of having 1 if the world’s top accountants in control and it’s model I expect many clubs will now try to copy.

The remaining funds will either come from an outside investor that they will want to get involved if the deal is right, the council asJoe has confirmed or, and a few ITK have confirmed this, Moshri (Usmanov) himself as he will find it if need be.

Borrowing for stadiums is normal practice, no one uses there own money fir anything as you can make your own cash work for you more than the interest you’ll pay on any loan.

If you want to see someone struggling to raise funds, you need to look to Spurs who are struggling with the increasing costs and I scorch will sell and cut the purse strings this summer. Abramovic is also having a lot of issues raising the funds for there new stadium and is struggling to do so as well as having bad borrowing deals arranged.
