The acquisition of Everton was not the end game
It was a means to an end and the end is the Jewel and cash cow that is Liverpool docks
If we get by our standards massive investment and a new stadium then I'm happy.
Don't forget there is more money to be made in the docklands with a successful football club as an anchor tenant then there is with a mid table club as your anchor tenant

I think this is pretty on the money. Everton was never what he wanted - the docklands were - and facilitating a new stadium (not using his own cash you notice) gets him nearer that. If we get a stadium out of it - great. Moshiri will not be investing his fortune into EFC like Abramovic did with Chelsea. He may, however, sell to someone at some point that will, and I think that that is what we should actually look forward to. I think Usmanov is an utter pipe-dream, and any investment from him would be to get to the sweet sweet docklands.

You'd think a multi-billionaire would know how to dispose of shares if needed. I also think a multi-billionaire would know more than The Esk on everything relating to his shares & Arsenal.

This is the problem when people manufacture themselves as ITK's. They use words and phrases like 'what I've been told' or 'my understanding is' and then just give you whatever their opinion is, in language that is absolute and definitive. Even when it turns out to be a load of cobblers, the arrogance will not give way and they merely adjust their position while suggesting that things are happening in the background. It is all complete tosh. Mind you, there have been loads on here taken in.....

I don't think people fully understand just how much Kroenke really doesn't care about anything other than himself.

He has his plans thought out years in advance and he has the money and influence to make sure no one can stop him.

1 in 10 is a very harsh summary mate.

Anyone who goes back and reads through his posts can see how accurate his posts have been over the past few years. Not everything comes off but that's football - anything that he's been certain on has seemingly happened anyway.

That's my point mate. There are no ITKs when it comes to Usmanov. WRD and such are giving opinions based on no substance.

As is the esk mate, he just adds gravitas to his points due to being a businessman himself. But honestly it's all just opinion of people far far removed from having an actual clue.

Strange that he doesn't mention the fact Usmanov stated that wenger should be left in charge in that article. An opinion usmanov stated less than a fortnight ago....

Just my opinion lads but i disagree. I know where you are coming from though. I think the dynamic of the Emirates deal was a lot different, they took on a lot of short term debt which really impacted the club from a footballing perspective and a revenue perspective. Its hard to know what RWH would have done if they were in control of the club, loaning the club money could have been an option and then turning the loan to equity, thats popcorning at its best as it would never happen at Arsenal given the share situation and is kind of like their bid yesterday, not ever goign to happen, its more about pressure on Kronke. I dont think that can be taken seriously. If he was to follow the same model at Everton, Mosh would purchase the remaining shares, have a rights issue or Usmanov funds the ground and converts the debt to equity. There would be no need for LCC at all.

Just my opinion. I think he and Moishiri are working collectively though doubling their exposure in PL clubs in the last 18 months as such their personal stakes in terms of value have risesen dramatically. I dont see Usmanov directly coming on board at Everton though, or putting his own chips on the table with us.

It's all about opinions, or should I say informed opinions, debate about its a good thing and everyone with an opinion is really making an educated guess.

Its a good line of thought, you see he NEVER has to ever declare an interest in Everton to maintain 1.

Hell his holding company already sponsors us, the USM tie in is key here, do we lose the ability to be sponsored by USM if Alioops ever does "come over", nothing ever needs to be written down, simply 2 old friends chatting away on a yacht somewhere.................

There are two clear schools of thought from ITK’s about Usmanov. The first is that Usmanov is using Moshiri as a proxy and will be on board soon, if he’s not pulling the string already (more WRD)

The second (more associated with the Esk) is that Usmanov has no connection, will not come on board and is fully committed to Arsenal.

Both positions have good evidence to back them up. Likewise both can use any multitude of events to point too in order to justify such a position. The latest episode of Usmanov dominant position would be he wants to buy Arsenal. A alternative position that he is doing it as a last attempt to pave the way to leave is not without credence though.

My position has always been somewhere in between. I think Usmanov is weighing up his options. If Arsenal were to become available I am convinced he would go down that route. Yet if we make progress on and off the pitch and that option isn’t available to him then the chance to come on board further down the line may be something that interests him.

One thing I think we will want is a clear outlook on what Moshiri is looking to do in lieu of Usmanov. I strongly suspect we will have Spurs level funding and try to do things the Spurs way. Gradual building, looking for value, buying younger players, bringing through lads from the academy, having a coach that can develop young players. It’s not the glamour that would come with Usmanov at the helm, but is a long way ahead of where we were under Kenwright.
