either that or just concept models of what could be achieved. these things change daily though, so im guessing any year old model would be obsolete by now.

I sense what Usmanov will be looking to see is Everton being able to compete with the top 6. This sounds an odd statement as for over a decade we have competed on the pitch and often finished above members of them on the pitch, however off the pitch we are massively behind.

Our nearest competitor is Spurs for off field revenue. I haven't exact figures to hand but the difference between us and someone like Bournemouth or Hull is closer than our gap to Spurs in 6th. It is not a close run thing either. The gap is between Everton to Hull in terms of revenue will be something like 3 or 4 times smaller than that of our gap to Spurs. When you reflect on that for a moment it's both shocking and sobering. We have been allowed to essentially be just another Bournemouth in comparison to the 6th place side (never mind the even greater gap to teams above them).

Anyway here is to building the Arsenal of the North. We shall not be moved!

However, Spurs have also shown that despite being only the 6th best club in 'off the pitch' terms, they have excelled on the pitch and have been comfortably better than the 6th best club in that regard. Which as fans is the main thing we want from our teams. If we could be comfortably the 7th best club "off the pitch" but be finishing 3rd and 4th on it, the fanbase would be delighted and that is what we need to aim for.

I do agree that we need to improve off the field massively. Outside of the top 6, only West Ham should be a realistic threat to us being the 7th best in that regard. Unfortunately they have big advantages with the new stadium and London location.

I think you're right mate. At the end of what was a very long post I did try to touch on this. We do overperform on the pitch. Partly down to the history of the club, partly because we haven't wasted money on players or managers, partly because of the city we are in and the academy we have. I agree with you, if we upped our revenue, to give more power to our recruitment while keeping the positive aspects of the last 15 years on the pitch we are a strong proposition.

The only issue if question is no competition for 7th. I think what we've found over the last 5 years is our "best of the rest" slot is being challenged. In raw numbers we are not that far ahead of even the poorest sides in the league. We've also seen your West Hams, Stokes, West Broms, Southamptons etc of this world start to get their act together and run the risk of catching us had we stood still.

Fortunately under Moshiri we are starting to move forward. I am confident that will no longer be a much of a concern for us.
