The articles main point is that the news outlet that reported the deal is one who's owner has close ties to Usmanov, so its unlikely that they would mistake him for Moshiri.

This piece based on an 11 month old email or whatever (26/2/16).
Plus given the respective rump holdings, the rights issue would take FM to a maximum of 73.56% of shares so below the 75% required to force. This figure also assumes that BK/JW/AA sell all their remining holdings of 4256,3116 and 910 shares respectively.
Is it not possible that BK (sentimental) and JW (sentimental and historical) reasons maintain some kind of holding?

Yes, that seems to be the main thrust of the article - and indeed it is old news.

I don't think that's enough to hang your hat on. USM Finch Farm is much bigger news - and although that's woven into the article, there's nothing of substance there.
