Usmanov

I think it's vastly different. The local industrialist might have exploited others to get their wealth, but I'm pretty certain they didnt use the means to get business that someone like this creature used.

Go on Dave, your fishing and i will choose to bite.

Sure we are all keen to know exactly what it is he did and has done, what means he used, and go into loads of detail mate, when you do i will respond to the post?

Up for the challenge or more keen to just keep flitting from thread to thread trying to stir up stuff?

It's fairly unedifying seeing wpeople frothing at the mouth with excitement that the club they support and place some amount of their character into is about to be taken over by a man who has suppressed critical articles about him and his friend, has alleged connections to the Russian Mafia, was imprisoned for fraud...

@GrandOldTeam

Is there still a vacancy in mod central ?

You've often said the mods are all too nice so this Usmanov lad might provide the hard line that's been lacking ?

It's a good point to make.

This move will either:

A) Kick start the Arsenal lot, more than there are now, into getting Usmanov into power and getting shut of Kroenke
B) Get Kroenke to kick off on Usmanov and potentially Alisher leaving

A few have been under the impression that Usmanov would allow Moshiri to lay the foundations at Goodison and join him in the future. It's all a bit mad because whenever it's been brought up, the Usmanov "I won't sell Arsenal shares" quote gets rolled out and then a lot don't know what to think.

For me, if Usmanov is continued to be shut out of Arsenal and can find a buyer of his shares that can make a deal to get shut of Kroenke, he'll do it and join Moshiri at the Blues.

Agreed, but as it stands, his shares are essentially worthless and cost 300m. If there was a new buyer then Stan would have to allow that new buyer onto the board

His shares are worthless for someone who wants to have a say at the table, for a long term secure investment it's a different sketch

If you've made <£300m it's probably through shrewd investments. Football is a pretty pants investment if you're looking for a security or to make large gains

I sort of agree with you goat but what's your thoughts on kenwright having done his utmost so we didn't fall further behind than we have. I think he deserves credit for his dedication.

I said Bill did the best he could, he made some poor decisions, but I think, he always tried to put our interests first.

We have done well for a club without any investment in over 20 years, thats for damn sure.

Tbh, I hitherto thought the prospect that Usmanov had merely used Moshiri to park his cash was fanciful. Now with this development it becomes less so.

I'm not saying Moshiri IS a proxy owner, but I wouldn't be amazed if he was - such are the connections between them and the obvious seniority of Usmanov in that relationship.

Im thinking of it like a consortium of Moshiri, Usmanov and Soichi. They had 300 mill exposure in Arsenal jointly. I think they made a concise decision last year given the growth in the Premier League to increase that exposure. They released Moshiri from Arsenal to buy 87 mill worth of Everton which will increase. Moshiri is officially acting separately but I think the subtext is he's working as part and on behalf of the consortium. I think we will see new and inventive ways of commercial funding coming our way.

The job of work Moshiri has now is to increase the value of Everton, which is basically good news for us. But it seems we have some very heavy hitting unoffical backers behind us and we need to be massively careful how we play all this.

This is essentially in my opinion a group of very wealthy buisness men, with long held trustful relationships acting separately officaly but collectively unofficially as a group to increase their overall stake in the premier league gravey train.

And I have my view.

My view is that for the last 15 years we have had an Everton fan in charge, who did the best he could, but sadly allowed us to fall behind.

Now we have a chance to compete, so do I care where Usmanov got his money from?
Agreed. Football is a competitive sport/business. We can't change the world by meekly starving and hiding in the corner, while our competitors get the biggest scraps from the big table. Look at it this way, the more successful and branded Everton become, the greater the effect of EiTC, the better the local economy, the happier the community, the happier are Evertonians (we freaking deserve some smiles, don't we?)!
The reality is, ALL money is dirty. It's not about where the money comes from, it's all about what you do with it, where it goes.

It's not naive. I fully understand the realities of the situation. I don't have to accept that this is the only way for it to be. The club and supporting a club is about more than winning.

Do you only eat fair trade produce, not take any pharmaceutical products, not read or watch any paper/website or tv channel owned by unethical people mate?
