We played far better that day than we had for a long time and the nucleus of the 80's team started to take shape. Although we got beat we came away with our heads held high which made a pleasant change
I was def. widely optimistic but I watched every game thinking that young team looked like world beaters at times, I even remember trying convince people we dominated the Rush derby right up to Keeley's sending off. still think the turnaround may not have happened if it wasn't for a crocked Liverpool fan replacing my hero at the time McMahon.
