Thing is, this Spider-Man film was announced ages ago as was the next Guardians of the Galaxy and the next Black Panther. So they’d sort of ruined any suspense themselves barring them doing something really weird with the sequels.

Well nah, it could have easily been set pre-Infinity Wars couldn’t it.
Well not really as these films are all in Phase 4. Would be pretty weird to set off a new phase with a bunch of prequels that don't deal with what has just happened.

Wasn't sure how to feel about this movie as it could easily be a total disaster but that trailer gives me hope for it. That looks really good.

I after watching the trailer I think they could nail it as a very good origin movie with little touches of Arkham and I think the boy at the gate is Bruce Wayne so he starts his obsession early with the Wayne's.
Joker's main theme is all it takes is one bad day so from the trailer they are setting this up perfectly.
Very Taxi Driver which is one of my favourite films ever but the cast around him looks amazing too.
I am hoping it's excellent.
The way I`m looking at is, is that Joaquim Phoenix is as mad as a box of frogs ( helps with the role ), but he`s one of the best male actors around at the mo and only takes roles that genuinely interest him. Hence some of the real leftfield stuff that he does.
The fact that he`s taken the role, suggests to me that the chances are it`s going to be a very very good film.

Agreed mate.
There were 3 three films though... The last one was War Zone which I enjoyed.
The previous one with Thomas Jane and John Travolta was a steaming pile of poo.
Then there was on in the 80's with Dolph Lundgren (believe it or not lol).
I am lead to believe that it wasn't an Oscar winning film either.
TV series is incredible. Second series was a bit disappointing.
Just booked my midnight showing on the Wednesday for Endgame.
