The failed building projects, the head of regeneration suspended, graft and cronyism, lovely sunlit uplands. What facts? All I see there is sneering contempt. UNESCO's comments are presented as fact, like this.
Yet he doesn't elaborate on what that 'outstanding universal value' is. Which, lest we forget, includes a sewage works and derelict nothing.
Meanwhile, he comes out with nuggets like this, again presented as 'fact':
Which is opinion, subjective. All of it is. The 'three disgraces' next to the 'three graces' etc. is all subjective.
What it comes down to is elitism and archaism. "Old is good, new is bad". UNESCO were against Everton's stadium plans before the plans were even unveiled, which tells you all you need to know about the motivation.

Nice one Paul you mad rebel.I for one have just cancelled my 2 quid a month subscription to UNESCO .
Two can play at that game
You just never know Paddy what developments will blossom from BMD, the whole area will grow and flourish around the stadium, hopefully there will be a lot of things to attract visitors.Do people think BMD is going to be a tourist attraction? Other than away fans and maybe gig fans not many people are going to visit the city to go out of their way to go and see it. It's too far out of the way. It might form part of the city-tours bus route but thats it really. People who visit the city to do tourism stuff only really leave the city centre to see Penny Lane/John Lennons gaff etc.
I transferred the money to the save the African elephant fund mate.Nice one Paul you mad rebel.
What an absolute load of utter drivel that article is. Embarrassingly shoddy “journalism”, written by someone with an obvious axe to grindScathing.
