Player Valuation: £60m
went into work this morning only to be told by the boss that he is closing the place down ON THURSDAY!!!! 2 DAYS NOTICE AFTER OVER 10 YEARS SERVICE!! two blokes have been there for 25 and 30 years!

his reason was "cant be arsed with it no more" what a total [Poor language removed]!

so as of thursday i'm gonna be unemployed for the first time in my life!

still in shock dunno what the fook i'm gonna do workwise now!!!!

Sorry to hear that mate.. I'm in the same boat...

Thought I was going back last Tuesday, but no call yet..

Terrible news Fozzy.

Get yourself in touch with the CAB sharpish to determine what rights you have. 10 years service and no notice sounds like a case for tribunal if he's going to piss about and not pay your redundancy entitlement. The law always favours the employee in these circumstances.

Hope something else appears before too long

Its horrible, i've just found work again after a 3 month spell on the dole, worst 3 month spell of my life so far, on the job site every day, handing out CV's, interviews. Really do feel for you mate, hopefully you find something soon.

cheers lads hopfully getting redundancy but gotta wait for a letter from his solicitor 1st!

just in shock as its a small firm (6 employees) and was still reasonably busy!! the firm has been going for over 85 years too (started by the boss's dad!)and he has just closed it like that!!

get the weekend out the way then start looking i suppose! either still in joinery or might try a change!

Mate. You need to get advice sharpish, you will need to get your statutory redundancy.

Good luck mate. You have rights.

Sorry foz.

Sucks to think this has happened to someone as ridiculously nice as you!

It always happens to the best of 'em, eh?

Bad news, fozzy, sorry to hear it.

Bad News Fozzy, as milks says its worth checking your rights to see what you are entitled to. What do you/did you do for a living

cheers lads!

i am/was a joiner!

Ah Fozzyan that sucks.

I'm hating my job (still) but do need to remember how lucky i am to have it.

You'll get new work soon as you are ace. I'm sure of it.

Sorry to hear it Fozzy, been through that twice in the last 3 years but I've managed to land on my feet, albeit with some tough financial times in there.

At the end of the day, jobs are never "permanent". The only thing you can do is be the kind of person someone else wants to hire and have the skills to do a good job and you'll make it.

It's a shock to the system I know though.
