Welcome to Barcelonaton FC
I don't think it has anything to do with being a good player. It's all about reputation, and this stigma and dare I say it, bitterness that Everton just can't seem to shake off.
We have an incredible lack of self-belief, so much so that the manager has to come out and say it - which I find ludicrous. I believe it's not just with the players, its throughout. Manager, directors, tea ladys, fans. We all don't believe.
That is why I believe David Moyes can't take us anywhere because he has already subscribed to this. We need someone to breeze into this club, and say right that's it. This is what we are going to do, and this is how we are going to do it.
It's going to start from the top down. This is the plan.
Everyone is so scared of this glass ceiling, or this lack of money. Considering we have no money, we have some pretty good players. Time for excuses are gone as far as I am concerned.
True. Its the winning mentality.
To me the only players that look to have that are Fellaini and Cahill IMO. Fellaini hasnt really ever had a terrible game in my eyes. If he's not playing well, he's still putting it about and getting involved. Same with Cahill.
The RS for example still have your Caraghalars, Gerrard's, Torres', Reina's, Johnson's etc who - because of the occasion - turn up after being mediocre for weeks and deliver.
We get too insular, too indecisive before when its 10minutes before the end, throwing the kitchen sink and hope something comes out of it.
There's no wonder why a few seasons a go a tackle got the fans on their feet and led us to an unbeaten run in the prem. We've seemed to lose some fighting spirit.
