So 7 of the first 8 players in that list are “below average”
Laughable

so many fans confuse drop in form with being a bad player. I guarantee you, if arse get agood manager they will all be good players again. It’s been like this since competitive football started and yet some never get it.
Tierney: Barely played
Luiz: Possibly the most inconsistent player in football and he's past his best
Sokratis: Multiple years past his best
Ceballos: Has he played after his excellent debut?
Guendouzi: Liability when the other team has the ball
Bellerin: Just back from a major knee injury and a player who needs pace to be effective. So I need to see him play well again
Torreira: Bigfoot. I hear great stories but no proof of him being good actually exists
Ozil: Can't have his lack of anything without the ball when Aubameyang and Lacazette are rightly given that luxury too

Is there anyone I missed of note? I just don't see any of those players as very good. Maybe squad players for a 4th-7th kind of team but I think Arsenal want more than that. And currently they're all more than squad players.

I genuinely do not think Everton is a massive job. I’d concede that within English football, it’s a largish one but that’s about it. 35 years of insignificance has consequences...

...we’ll have to agree to disagree. I’m not saying we’re Real Madrid, but we’d be an attractive proposition to most managers out there.

Oh agree mate, strikers win games and we’re lacking awfully, but it would help if the one we had was played, not sat on the bench
Maybe he is not doing enough mate there has to be something drastically wrong if he cannot get in that team.Even if Silva didn't want him he would have to play him because his job is on the line. That is what leads me to believe there is something else we are not seeing.

That’s why I said the first 8 in the list, please read what I actually said

You’re not wrong: sadly, Everton’s executive dream team (Blue Bill, Farhad and Denise) don’t get it...so as a club, we’re in shtuk.

As if people are saying they wouldn’t have Unai frigging Emery at Everton. Mental.

You don’t become a bad manager overnight.

Top quality coach. Just because it didn’t work out at Arsenal, doesn’t mean it won’t elsewhere.

So you're still including 4 average at best players and saying why can't Emery be above average?

Aubameyang and Lacazette are very good but finding a system that suits them is difficult because they're both central strikers. Adding in a RW in Pepe makes it almost impossible to function with all 3. It's a doomed setup from the standpoint of planning out a squad.

It's going to take a magician not a manager to turn this around without significant transfers coming in and out. It sounds like this is a defense of Emery and I don't want it to be because I think he contributed to their problems. But they need a long term plan to rebuild if they want to be where they are aiming.

It's not that it didn't work out it's why it didnt. His signing of luiz, and his team selections, back to Spain for him.

You’d have been happy with Mourinho though right? Another high profile, recent, failure.

He’s a top manager, he’ll be a success elsewhere. Should 100% get him in.
