He's had his successes and his failures but I think he'd definitely be worth looking at again. He was up for it last time according to Spanish press but Koeman was our man from the outset and he ended up with the PSG job anyway. I say do it, I still think he should be defined by how bloody reslient and tough to beat that Sevilla team that won a hat trick of Europa Leagues he built, it's not like it was a decade ago. Most of those players he signed are still there and doing extremely well for the club.

Give him a call and sell him the vision, we've got the money to pay what he'd want and coming to England would surely appeal to him. Arsenal looks set for Tuchel, Chelsea might keep Conte for another yet or instead try to get Ancelotti back.

Wanted him since his Valencia days, proven. Not some bellend who dresses in a gimp mask for press conferences.

So do you think the ship of Silva has definitely passed or do you think he's like a little dingy boat desperately trying to keep his dreams afloat of future Everton glory.

I think the moving of the goalposts when we tried to get him post-Koeman could factor into a decision about him but as it's been pointed out, if Moshiri went for him once - and I mean, really went for him - it makes sense for him to go back when he doesn't have to pay anything.

I've written a few times since the middle of Feb that Paulo is, apparently, option one A whilst Silva is one B and that Moshiri would be happy with either.

However, I think we'd be disappointed not to appoint Fonseca post-Allardyce.

Cheers mate, makes sense.

fwiw and I know lots will disagree but I'd be happy with Silva. Don't know much about Fonseca ( didn't he used to play for Napoli? ) but his name isn't Sam, he doesn't look like Sam and there ain't a gravy granule in sight in all the pics I've seen of him so it's all positives as far as I can see.
