There’s definitely something going on with barber shops. Where I live for the last two years they’ve been opening new ones on a monthly basis.

It’s money laundering: a business model that mostly requires no physical product (invoices, stock counts) and regularly accepts cash makes it easy to do.

Regardless of what those two urchins are saying, there is a serious issue however with money laundering through barber shops: it's the ol' sunbed strategy.

These however do have tangible stock, which would need a paper trail of invoices. You also have a lower profit margin as part of this.

Barbers and car washes have to pay for the premises, bill and the staff, and that’s it: four hair cuts an hour at £20 each, and you can see how it works.
