Ajax and AC Milan are among the most glamorous names in next season's Uefa Cup. Both sides are former European champions but missed out on Champions League qualification last term.
They are among the list of sides who have qualified for the first round of the Uefa Cup - along with Everton.
Other big names set for the two-legged encounters include Sevilla, Valencia, Spurs, Hamburg and Paris Saint Germain.
Metalist Kharkiv - who Everton played at the same stage last season - are also in the competition.
The likes of Manchester City, Hertha Berlin and Borussia Dortmund are in the earlier qualifying rounds of the tournament.
Intertoto Cup qualifiers Deportivo La Coruna, Napoli and Stuttgart could also make their way through to the first round of the Uefa Cup.
Everton are unlikely to face Europe's biggest names when the draw is made on August 29, though, with a seeding system likely to be in operation.
But should the Blues progress from their first tie, there is the prospect of some tantalising matches in the five-team group stage.

Some tasty teams in the uefa goblett this year, would love a trip to Ajax at some point. A night in amsterdam is just what the doctor orderd!! We really need to improve the squad if we want to compete with some of these teams.
COYB.........bring them on.

Ajax in the quater finals...Milan in the semi finals...then liverpool in the final, ratio of fans, 3:2 (everton:liverpool)

:)

Also hibbert last minute goal in the final, the crowd go wild, and get tattoos of hibbert on their arms the next day, they later regret it.

If Hibbert scored the winner in a final against Liverpool, no one would regret a tattoo! (y)

I was at Ajax when they thumped the R/S with Cryuff and Neeskins could see that much in the fog but it was a great night,a mate had organized a trip for the game and a night in the city came home late the next day the guy who's place I took could not go at the last minute cost me a tenner he said he was not expecting any money back mind you £10 was a lot then had a great night(y)

ajax in the arena would be a tasty one, although it would be safer to go out in amsterdam if playing a different dutch team.
there are some tasty teams to play in the goblet this year , most of whom have appeared on "football factories international".
maybe danny can secure tickets through the club for a selection of members as to qualify they are gonna say you have to have been to all of last years aways "officially". i met some guys in bergen airport from yorkshire and they said they got theirs through their branch of the supporters club.

Draw to be made on friday, potential clashes include Man City's conquerors, FC Midtjylland or Brondby or FC both of Denmark, Maritimo of Portugal or even a repeat of the 1st round last year and a potential banana skin vs Ukraine's Metalist Kharkiv - i personally wouldnt mind a short break in portugal

i read on the uefa site that its 29th the draw, i take it there will be the usual bizarre method of having a draw, where there are only 3 teams in the hat that u can be drawn against, we should avoid any team from england and also and cl team or team who enter at the same stage as us, leaving non english teams from the quals as the only ones we can be drawn against.
sharpy, if its anywhere near 'dam or 'dam en route then we have to have ag.o.t. together, i used to live there dont forget and am the self appointed g o t travel advisor(y)
