Doesn't the window only open 1 July?Agreed. Am hoping, due to accounting shenanigans that we want to count the purchase from 1st July rather than June, so the deal may be agreed, but will be timed so its simultaneous with the expiry of his loan.
Interestingly though, football had rarely drawn on coaching or managerial experience outside of the game. Coaching and management are a bit of a closed loop and networking clearly counts for a lot. It's changing, but there is still a bias.It might be, but when you think of how competitive and cut throat it is I don't think there is anything easy about it.
The only advantage we may have is if George says he only wants to go to EvertonHe's a contracted Chelsea player until June 2027, with a club option for a further year.
He's technically on loan at Everton until end of June 2026, and we negotiated an option to purchase him outright within that time if he wishes to also make it permanent.
Nobody can outbid us during this time as we have already negotiated a fee, which nobody seems to know but is rumoured to be around £20m; it's just whether Everton want to gamble on driving it down, the time running out, and another club coming in for him in July when we have no advantage any more.

We can't sign anyone before that date.
Could announce them in some way, I guess, but nothing can be finalised before that date?

The same way Hackney says he only wants to sign for Everton
These things can change though
He left Chelsea to get minutes playing first team football. He sits on the bench 95% of the time.
Chelsea gets a new manager, does he stay and try to win a place in the Chelsea team or fight for a move to come back to Everton and see a player that we wanted to sell in January get picked ahead of me.
Indeed.
Reckon he'd be a bit mad to want to stay.
He doesn't have to fight for a move, that parts already sorted if he wants it. Have we shown him enough, from the outside looking in, No.He left Chelsea to get minutes playing first team football. He sits on the bench 95% of the time.

I think there will be better than Tyrique lined up to play up front at Chelsea. Alonso will have a non negotiable mandate of CL football at the end of the season and I don’t see Tyrique getting into a team with that mandateA new manager who played young players in Germany when they won the league.
It's a tough choice between Alonso and Moyes.
